Human Resources Business Consultant

Department: Human Resources (External)

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually

Location: Rochester, NY

Employment Status: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Position Summary

The Human Resource Consultant plays a pivotal role in providing strategic HR guidance and support to clients, ensuring alignment between their organizational objectives and HR practices. This role involves collaborating closely with clients to assess their HR needs, develop tailored solutions, and implement best practices to optimize their workforce performance and drive business success.

Essential Expectations and Responsibilities:

· Act as a trusted advisor to clients, conducting thorough assessments of their Human Resource needs and challenges.

· Provide strategic recommendations and solutions to clients.

· Assist clients in developing Human Resource strategies aligned to their business objectives including but not limited to talent management, workforce planning, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives.

· Design and implement Human Resource policies and procedures tailored to clients’ unique requirements.

· Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.

· Develop recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent; Provide guidance on sourcing, selection, onboarding, and retention strategies.

· Offer guidance and support on employee relations issues, including but not limited to conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance handling.

· Help clients foster a positive work environment and mitigate potential risks.

· Identify training needs within client organizations and develop customized training programs. Deliver training sessions on topics such as leadership development, diversity and inclusion, and performance improvement.

· Assist clients within the isolved platform which serves as their HRIS, ATS and/or performance management system.

· Remain up to date on relevant employment laws and regulations. Provide guidance to clients to ensure compliance with legal requirements and minimize HR-related risks.

· Developing, revising, and implementing HR policies and procedures.

· Answer non-routine requests for information on policy interpretation.

· Develop methods for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects.

· Conduct audits on personnel files, processes, documentation, or best practices.

· Providing ongoing support to Buffalo clients throughout the year, regardless of weather conditions

· Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or HR Certification (ex. PHR, SHRM) preferred.

· Proven experience in HR Consulting or related role, with a strong understanding of HR principles and practices.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish credibility with clients in various industries.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to develop innovative solutions to complex HR challenges.

· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure and timelines.

· Proficiency in HR software and technology tools, including Microsoft Suite.

· Commitment to always maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Special Notes:

· COVID-19: Due to the current global pandemic, Bene-Care is operating with a partially remote/hybrid workforce, however this is not to expected to continue indefinitely. Permanent telecommuting arrangements may be made on a case-by-case basis as needed.
